McGinnis aces 2nd at Wallkill

George McGinnis etched his name in the sportsinthegardenstate.com
hole-in-one honor roll when he aced the second hole at Wallkill. Playing in a foursome with Bob Luby, Mike McConnell
and Ron Stephens, McGinnis hit off the tee with his 5-iron, driving the ball 169 yards to the green where it rolled
into the hole for an ace.
Mike Hoffman won the men's division of the Flag Day Tournament with June Bley capturing the first place prize in
the ladies' division at Wallkill.
At Lake Mohawk, Marc Simon won the President's Trophy on a match of cards at 140 over Joe Ulreich. In the Ladies
N.E.T., Marie Roig and Julie Scales tied for first with scores of 33.
In the Couples Tournament at Newton, the first place prize went to the foursome of Art and Janet Maroldi and Betty
and Joe Tolerico who posted a score of 53. Two strokes back in second place was the team of John and Kathy Covisci
and George and Sharon Criscione. Tied for third place at 57 was the team of Jean and Tom Castello and Charlie and
Nancy Eble and the foursome of Marjorie and Marty Feely and Alida and Frank Retschof.
Low gross honors in the Member-Guest Tournament at Skyview went to the team of Frank Maffei and Jim Rafter who
carded a round of 71. Picking up the prize for low net was the twosome of Robert DeGennaro and Robert Ryan who
posted an adjusted score of 55. Chris Lynch was closest to the pin, Mitch Handler pounded out the longest drive
and Jim Hundley had the straightest drive. |
